Used Cars: Title, title clerks, affidavit

Question
I purchased a used vehicle around 3 years ago out-of-state. I live in Texas; the vehicle was purchased in Tennessee. I waited a while to get tags in Texas. About a year after I purchased the vehicle, I went to get tags. I paid the penalty for being slow, paid the taxes, paid the fees and got my tags. I never received my title, but I didn't even think about it. The next year, I went to renew my tags and was informed that there was a problem with the title. Apparently the title was signed in Tennessee (the sale prior to mine from an individual to a dealership) with two different signatures. I wasn't given any real advice as to what to do except contact the delearship. I haven't done that yet because I don't know what I need to ask for or how it needs to be handled most conveniently for everyone involved. Please let me know if you have an answer. Thanks!

Answer
Hello, You want to call the title clerk at the dealership, They know the laws for that state. Title clerks can be slow, so have patience. They may request for you to sign an affidavit to help. Let me know what the conversation was like after you talk with the title clerk at the dealership.
