Used Cars: Salvage Title, salvage, title

I am looking at a 2004 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with 23,000 miles.  It is the second owner from salvage and states they are selling because they have a hard time getting dogs in and out of vehicle.  It has cruise, air, V6 and is automatic.  Would love to buy but they are asking $14,900.  What really would it be worth with a salvage title and where would I take it to be inspected before a purchase.  I am a single female and I don't want to be taken advantage of.     Thanks for your time. $14,900 asking with 23K looks good except for that nasty word SALVAGE, was it frame damage , water, hailstorm or other?

I thought I have heard all the reasons for selling a vehicle till you came along " getting dogs in and out of vehicle " I don't mean to be rude but that's a good one that will stay with me, lol
