Used Cars: Bought a used car that is unsafe, buying, as is

Question
I bought a used 2004 Impala in Ga on 11/7 from a used car lot.  No buyers guide in the window, and was never stated by the dealer as "as is", though I did notice it later on the paperwork that I signed.  The car shook when I test drove it at 40/50mph.  When I asked the dealer what the problem was, he said that it needed new tires.  Having had this problem with past cars that needed tires, I took him for his word and purchased the car.  After I had all 4 tires replaced the same problems arose, so I took it to a local Tires Plus for a wheel balance and alignment.  They said that the front driver tire was bent bad causing major tire wear and shaking.  The new tires that were put on were missing small chunks on the inside from splitting from banging into the frame.  They also said that the car was unsafe to drive and should not have been sold in this condition, because when one of those tires blows the car would probably flip over.  I just got this info today and plan on going back to the dealer in the morning because they were closed by the time I got over there.  Is there anything that I can do?

Answer
Hi, Jurell

You have learned a lesson buying a car " I took him for his word and purchased the car " I really wish to be on your side but you signed a bill of sale AS IS which means whatever problems the car may have becomes your problems. Tell me what happened when you returned to the dealer with your car ?,,, my guess is a song and dance

Your right, this type unsafe vehicle should not allow to be licensed, and that is an on going problem in many states, please reply telling me whom this dealer is, or if they have a website ?
