Used Cars: The buying of an UNSAFE vehicle, tow truck drivers, rust damage

Question
Hello, I purchased a used "as is" vehicle in August of 2008. I have driven it less than a month. I had it towed back to the used car lot and had the water pump and timing belt replaced. Once I got the vehicle back I had it for one day and had to have it towed back and they told me it would cost me upwards of 3000$ to fix the blown heads.  However, my issue is this. I have since had 2 certified mechanics and 2 separate independent tow truck drivers tell me that the vehicle is UNSAFE to even be on the road due to the severity of the rusted out frame.  One told me that he was surprised that it was even holding together and that it would not last 2 months on the road. Another told me that it could only be towed by a flatbed tow truck because the vehicle would fall apart otherwise.  Am I protected by any laws stating that it is illegal to sell a UNSAFE vehicle even if rust damage was noted on the "as is" sticker?

Answer
Unfortunately I see nothing you can do.  If that happened here in Oklahoma, I would tell you to contact The Used Parts and Motor Vehicle Commission, they are kinda like the Used Car Lot Police, if you will.  You might see if your state has something comparable, but with you signing the AS IS sticker, with a rust note on it, I just dont see you being able to do much.
