Used Cars: bought used car and is falling apart, buying, car

Question
I bought a used car from my fiance's cousin in October, within the first week i started having problems with it. After 3 weeks i had to put it in the shop to have some work ($280) Was told that my fuel pump is going out and soon i will have to replace that. # weeks later my radiator cracks while im on my way to work and i crack a head. To replace that its going to cost me $800. I made one payment of $400 but have not made a payment since. I agreed to buy the truck for $3500, and was told the truck was in good running condition and nothign was wrong with it. I am refusing to pay for the truck as i was lied to and its costing me too much money to keep running. My question is can i be forced by law to pay off this vehicle?

Answer
Hi Tony

You have a real family problem here, I would like to be on your side but the truth is when you buy privately you buy AS IS and whatever problems the vehicle may encounter becomes your problems.

If you end up going to small claims court you will most likely loose unless you can prove misrepresentation.
