Used Cars: Used tractor trailer, finance company, verbal agreement

Question
I purchased (financed) a tractor trailer from a respectable dealer Select Trucks. I purchased the it on June 18, 2008. On June 18 before I took possession of the vehicle there were some repairs to be done. The dealer did not do the repairs at that time and asked that we bring it back the following day. It is 97 miles distance from my home to the dealer. I brought the car back the next day and still was not able to get it repaired. The salesman  told me to just use a local mechanic and send them the bill. I did that and was only reimbursed 60% of my money. A week later the vehicle began to have some problems. The wiring harness needed to be replaced. The truck continued to cut back and idle up high. The dealer refused to repair the vehicle. I returned to the vehicle to the dealer and told them to repair it or keep it. The problem is the purchase was made using my old truck as a trade. They have since sold. I have financed this truck ($18,000.) They are refusing to repair the truck and now I am due to make my first payment, but I do not have the truck. I did not have the truck 30 days before things started going down hill. The dealer were notified each time something went wrong with the truck. I have talked to the finance company and explained the situation. I just want them to give me my money back for the traded truck they sold and we are even or they can just repair the truck. The cost to repair the truck is $800.

Answer
Hi Felisha

The repairs to be done, if it was a verbal agreement your at the mercy of the dealer unless you can prove misrepresentation.
I like to be on your side of the matter, but the short answer is, your stuck, the finance company got no play in the matter, their only interest is you paying the loan on time
As for you  telling dealer to repair or keep vehicle that will never happen, also if dealer still had your trade that still would not solve anything.
Your at the mercy of the dealer, I am not trying to lecture you but you missed some steps in the buying process and I wish you would have visited my website

There are ways to blemish or tarnish a dealerships reputation, if you want to persue that avenue, let me know, make question private by checking the make private box
