Used Cars: repo auctions, repo auctions, police auction

I live in the Dallas area and am interested in buying from a repo or police auction...Can you give me a little more information on these? How exactly they work, (etc) and you wouldn't happen to know how often they occur or any in my area? Thanks for the help.

Well I dont really know a whole lot about those type of auctions.  Just from what I have heard it is basically just like any other auction but they are vehicles that have been repossessed by banks or cops.  I do not know how often or when they come through certain areas.  I know you are not far from me, and it seems like there are always ads for them, so I would assume they are pretty often.  I would really check the cars out before the auction if they will let you, generally they have the yard full of cars going to the auction, and you can generally browse them before they run, and definetly make sure what type of title you are getting, green, orange(rebuilt), etc.
