Used Cars: Extended Warranty Programs, hyundai santa fe, warranty companies

Question
I am purchasing a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe LX 6 cyl, that has 71713 miles, on it and it looks good in and out.  I'm paying cash to avoid the finance charges.  Now I want to find a good, reputable company to provide an extended warranty.  I had the vehicle checked out by two mechanics, I did a carfax report, I checked Consumer Reports, I researched it on Edmunds.com, ran a price value through KBB and Consumer Reports and I looked at the dealer's record on the BBB.  Everything checks out, now I just want to get the warranty - any thoughts on thoughts on a specific company or at least where to look?

Thanks in advance,
Landon

Answer
The dealership did not offer an extended warranty?  That being said there are too many warranty companies to list, much less recommend one.  I will however give you some advice on selecting one.  If you talk to the company and they tell you what is covered, get it in writing, deductibles, where you can take it to get it worked on, ideally you want one that is accepted at any Hyundai store in the country.  Always ask to see a list of components that are NOT covered, and remember that when you take it in for repair, and the service advisor calls in for authorization, the person on the other end of that call gets paid to find reasons not to pay your claim.  There are some good ones and there are some bad ones, you are obviously good at research, do some online research and then check the bbb on the warranty company.  Good luck
