Used Cars: maxima 3.0 (arabian gulf), mile car, laundry list

Question
"Hi Goodmorning
I am potentially looking at 2 used cars. Both Maximas.3.0 And both checked by my mechanic.
Ones 2002 3.0 blue color and has less than 40,000 on the odometer. Good condition, my mechanic seems pleased… need some slight shock / bushing work in the front tyres/ lady driven/ the automatic open does not work, it needs the key to start, window too has some problem as in when putting it up it goes up fully but comes half way down again.
The other has 115,000 on the odometer and is well maintained , as in serviced every month. The owner is a friend and I know that he is very nit-picky when It comes to his car.  And the mechanic says the car is good.

I'm a bit muffled about the mileage

Answer
Well the first thing that got my attention was the laundry list of things needed to the 40k mile car, I could understand if it was the 115k mile car, but to me unless you are really getting one heck of a deal on the 40k mile car, that is to many things wrong, and could turn into a hefty repair bill.  Now if the 115k mile car is all good and needs nothing, you know the owner and all that, I would not have a problem purchasing a car with that kind of mileage.  In general the maximas are really good cars, and have a reputation for going a long ways.  For me it would all boil down to $$$$.  If the 115k mile car was considerably cheaper, like it should be, I would probably lean towards that car.  For me, if a car already has the problems the 40k car has, that is kind of, most of the time, and indication of how it was taken care of, which is a major factor in my opinion.
