Used Cars: Can I sell a car which title is signed by the owner) but still not transferred the title on my name., florida title, flores

Question
I want to sell my car:
I have the title signed by the person (owner) who gave the car to me. My question is: Can I sell the car without transferring the title on my name? since I do not want the car, I need the money.
The title is a Florida title, I am living in Washington DC (today) but I still have my DL from Florida
If you can answer my question I will really appreciate. Thank you so much

Answer
In general, you might could get by selling the car without putting it in your name, however, you really need to check with a local tag agent, or the equivalent, and make sure you can sell a car that is registered in florida, but selling it in washington dc.  I know here in oklahoma, that an out of state title, or even an indian title, has to be inspected by a tag agent.  That might would be the problem in trying to sell the car without putting it in your name.  if there was no different state issue, you could get by with it, even if you are not supposed to, you probably would not have much problem, and it happens pretty often.
