Used Cars: Should I replace my 94 Camry, full coverage insurance, side air bags

Question
My girlfriend recently scraped up my 1994 Camry.  I need to decide whether to have the body work done to to buy a more recent car.  Are more recent cars significantly safer than the 1994 Camry?  It has dual side air bags and anti lock brakes.

Thanks.

Brian

Answer
Well there is definetly nothing wrong with a camry, and they always seem to be at the top of the list of safe cars, each and every year for a while now.  With technology in the car business making leaps and bounds of progress, they do get safer the newer they are.  As for the question if you should replace it or not, is an answer that you already probably know.  I personally always like the newer stuff, but if you dont owe anything on your camry, there is benefits with that, including liability insurance vs. Full coverage insurance, which you will probably have to have on a newer model, and of course the payments that come with it.  It sounds as if you really want a newer model, so if you can afford it, go for it.  And take comfort in knowing that if you dont have to trade in your camry, you have a really reliable second vehicle.
