Used Cars: car contract, contract question, car contract

Question
QUESTION: I purchased a car Sept. 2, 07. I recieved a call yesterday stating I had to return the car because they could not find financing this is a week and a half after I drove off the lot. i found in part of the contract where it says they have 4 days to take the car back. What can i do.

ANSWER: This is an unfortunate incident that happens way to often, these big dealerships are so determined to close a deal as quick as they can, that they totally could not care less what or how you may feel when this happens.  Unfortunately there is not much you can do, but bring the car back, and of course get your trade in back or money down back.  If you really want to try and fight it, you could complain really hard to the dealership and see what they have to say about wanting the car back 10 days after your purchase when the contract says 4 days.  What probably happened is the day you did the deal, they thought they could get you financed through one of their many options, and turns out that they could not get it done, and it took this long to figure it out.  Now, more money down may help you get approved but I have yet to hear of anybody being able to do something about being in that situation.  In my opinion your best option is just to raise as much hell as you can with the dealer to see if they will put forth more effort to try and get you approved....as far as what that is, would be tough to say simply because I do not know about your situation in particular ie:  What kind of car did you try and buy?  How much money down were you putting?  What is your credit situation?  And what is their reason in denying your application?  If you want to try and give me more information about this, I will try and assist you, but in the end, the only chance I think you have is with that dealer.  But I would definetly inquire why they did what they did....and Good luck.

QUESTION: Why do they have a 4 day part in the contract if they don;t have to honer it? Is that not binding?

Answer
Well you just have to understand that they have been doing this a long time, and you can rest assured that these contracts have been made to cover their butt in any and most situations...with that being said...if it was possible for you to scan, copy and paste word for word what it said, I might could be of more assistance.  It is just that I have worked at those type of places, and they always have some type of loophole that covers their butt...hard to say what without reading what it says, but I would recommend you bring that up to the dealer, and see what they say about it....if there is a way out for them, they will probably let you know pretty quick.
