Used Cars: Used peugeot, european car magazine, google searches

Hello, i'm from Croatia and i plan to buy a peugeot 206 1.4i from '99. it has 108000 km. the price is 4500 €. (our used car prices are a little higher than in other west European countries) . Well im not sure of quality of peugeots so i would appriciate any advice.

Well given that I live in the US my experience with these cars is very limited... However I have always liked the looks of the little 206 thus I also have done research on them... From what I've seen it would appear that those cars are very good, comparable to a european version of the civic... Thats what I've read from several sources.... primarily about newer 2003+ models though, I don't know of any european specific car sights, but I'm sure you can google search (google.com) a review for the 206, there will be plenty, as for quality and reliability, see if a european car magazine has done a rating (in the US we have consumer reports & consumer guide which give reliability ratings for almost every car ever built)... Sorry I can't be of more help, I just dont have any personal experience with the cars, however if you do some google searches I am sure you will find some one who has.  Good luck, I think they are really neat cars & I wish we had them here.
