Trucking: overall length, god bless israel, class a cdl license

Question
I'm interested in going commercial with a one ton extended van and a pull type trailer. What is the longest total length I can be.
Thanks,
Dick

Answer
Hi Richard,

It varies by state, but I don't think you'll have a problem. Overall length in GA is 100 ft, trailer length is 53 ft. TN has a shorter trailer length pulled with a truck which is 48 -50 ft. Something else to think about is drivers license. The van alone is consider to be a commercial motor vehicle. If the GVWRs of the van and the GVWRs of the trailer add to 26,001 lbs. or more, you will need a Class A CDL license. I hope I answered your question, if not send me another one.

God Bless, Israel
