If my husband and I start our own small trucking company with one truck, and me finding his loads using load boards, do I have to have a brokers license? if so, or if not, what else do I need?

You don't need a brokers license to get loads from a load board, only when trying to get loads direct from the shippers. Go to www.dotauthoriy.com, you can get some great tips. If he's going to survive with fuel price the way it is, you must keep deadhead miles to a minimum. Sometimes freight is cheap, but it might pay your fuel to a good paying load.
