Trucking: Trucking industry, hot shot service, dodge dually

Question
I recently started a hot shot service with a one ton dodge dually and a 30' gooseneck flat bed tandem dually and am having a hard time getting any work and getting my name out there.  How do I go about getting my name out there and letting people and businesses know I am available to them?
I have gone to just about EVERY local business in a 100 mile radius and have got one customer out of it, this has been time consuming and costly to me and the company and need to figure this out soon. Please help lead me in the right direction. Thank You

Answer
Hi Adam.

Starting a business, even trucking, is difficult.  I would try contacting local trucking companies and see if they have any loads that need to be covered. It's a good way to see who's pulling loads for who and get the money rolling in.  Also, contact all the load brokers that you can.  They should keep you running and another way to find new customers (and take them away from the brokers).  Look under www.getloaded.com or your yellow pages under "Broker, Transportation".

Good luck!
