Trucking: becoming a trucker, schnieder national, trucking industry

Question
hey, i'm 23 and just got out of the airforce, i have always wanted to be a trucker and can't decide whether to join back up with the airforce or try to get into the trucking industry, i have heard that it is a very well paying job, but long hours, i don't have a family and would want to get in as an OTR, what kind of qualifications do i need, where should i go to school, what should i expect to pay and are jobs going to be available to me?  any and all info would be extremely helpfull

thanks,
Geoff

Answer
I can't make that desision for you, but you can try Schnieder National, Swift, P.A.M. and they will train you. after training, you will have to stay a year and they will not charge you for the training. you can make in your first year around 35 to 45K with benefits. Good Luck. Mike
