Trucking: New to car hauling, auto hauling, diesel truck

I have a 3/4 ton diesel truck and open 2 car hauler.  I would like to contract with a carrier in order to get started in the hauling business.  Can you advise how to find small carrier companies that might be interested in contract drivers that have their own truck and trailer.  I am interested in a small company.  I am located in the Southeast but willing to drive wherever.  When I purchased the trailer I thought I had a carrier to drive for but he has proved unreliable.  Thanks for your assistance.

Hi Marty.

There are so many car haulers, I bet you could find one local right out of your yellow pages.  You might also hit local auto auctions to find carriers.  You can also Google "auto hauling" and your state and a ton of companies will pop up.  Now, it's just a matter of making some calls.
