Answer
Antoine,
When I started in 1983, (don't laugh)the myth was true. Now companies have short haul or dedicated runs to bring you home at least 3 to 5 days a week, but you have to look hard. look in the newspaper for dump truck jobs, living in Louisiana, they haul material all year long. also hauling auto parts is good. Try Rush Trucking, Falcon, first and foremost, try Old Dominion and Estes Express (I Work here), they will hire graduates. Don't give up. Also, your wife needs to be supportive. It's hard on a family, but it is worth it. My kids are 21,18,17 and 8. any questions, feel free to write me @ prmike1965@aol.com. I come home every other day, so give me a little time to answer back.
Good Luck!! Mike
