Trucking: rv travel trailer delivery from mfg to dealer, rv travel trailer, dump truck business

Question
I'm looking for any info about hauling travel trailers.   Is it constant work,  good pay, low overhead?  I'm in the dump truck business around Chicago hauling gravel, sand & dirt thru brokers & the overhead is killing me.   I've pulled up many websites on transport companies but am really interested in talking to o/o drivers who haul fulltime.      Thanks,    Bruce

Answer
Hi Bruce.

I've talked to guys hauling new RV trailers and they stay very busy and do very well.  I'm not to sure on specifics, but I do know that Northern Indiana has a lot of manufacturers.  I would start by contacting them and seeing if they hire owner-operators directly.  A few phone calls should get you heading in the right direction.  You may also contact Trailer Transit in Porter, Indiana.  All they do is haul trailer for customers.  Here is one such RV company you should contact...
