QUESTION:  what are the benefits of having a trucking authority? i have my own truck that i have a driver for and it's currently leased to a company. will having an authority help me make more money with this truck. How can i go about getting the authority.

QUESTION: how involved is finding my own loads? i have a driver and i am leased to a company. i work elsewhere everday. how can i find a broker or a shipper that wants my sevices. what's the going rate for a load if i have my own authority?

Lorenzo, To find loads, there are several load boards on the internet with information about loads. you would have to call numbers given to get the rate for the load. There is not set rate for loads off the load boards, you would have to discuss the max the load would pay. Since you have a full time job, you may be better to stay leased. Good Luck J P
