Trucking: Commercial License, bob stephens, fifth wheel

Question
Do you have to have a commercial drivers license to do hot shot work?  If so, I read at the ODOT website that one WILL have to take a truck driving course and do a driving test with truck and tractor?
I am wanting to do hot shot, small loads with a f-250 outfitted with goosneck and fifth wheel?

Answer
Hi Mike,

You'll probably need a Class B license.  Your Department of Transportation can help you with all you need to do.  I'd call them before taking any course, you shouldn't have to. It's not a bad idea to get some training, though.  You may contact a local truck driver school and talk to them.

Good luck!
