THINKING ABOUT STARTING A HOT SHOT TRUCKING CO. IN OKLAHOMA. LOTS OF OIL GAS WELL IN AREA. i CAN NOT FIND OUT HOW TO SET MY HAULING PRICES. have TRYED LOCAL HAULERS BUT THEY HAVE CLOSED MOUTHS WHEN IT COMES TO THERE PRICES.i'M NOT SUPRISED. have MY OWN TRUCK, TRAILER. INSURANCE,BONDS,READY TOGO. NEED TO GET STARTED.. THANKS

Hi Billy.

Three ways you can do it.  Figure out what you think your cost per mile will be, and charge accordingly.  Second, you can try to talk to other owner-operators and see what they charge (you know how varied that can be).  Third, you can call trucking companies and get some rates.  It's a fact of business.  Companies always find out what competitors are charging!  From Nike, to GM, to trucking companies.  Make some calls, acting like a customer, and see what kind of rates you get.
