Trucking: MC license/ DOT license, trucking company, broker company

Hello, I'm interested in starting my own trucking/brokering business and would like to know what type of licensing I would need to obtain? Thank you.

Hi Tony, The requirements for trucking company are: 1. Federal Authority (I can help with) fee $400.00) 2. Process Agents (I can help with) fee $50.00. You will need Liability Insurance with limits of atleast %750,000.00. Which you can obtain thru a insurance agent that writes truck insurance. (Depending on where you are located, I may can help with that also.)
Broker authority requires: Federal Authority (I can help with) fee $400.00 unless I do both, then $350.00 for second one. Also required to post $10,000.00 Bond with FMASC before they will give Broker Authority. (I can give you some finance information on that also.)
