Trucking: failing drug test for cocaine, random drug test, substance abuse facility

Mr. Long,
My husband tested positive for cocaine for random drug test through dot.  Three months later he was hired as a driver for another company in Ohio.  Is that drug test going to show up on his employment records or with the dot office.

Hi CATHY,  The way it is suppose to work if a driver test postive: The company that sent him for testing was to give him information about a Substance Abuse Facility to be evaluated and for treatment if necessary. Then After treatment, go back to work as a driver. The new trucking company is required to request from previous trucking companies for which he worked last 3 years a report of his drug testing results.  The DOT does not keep records of them.  Good Luck.  J P Long
