Trucking: need advice, bob stephens, insurance rates

my husband and i are driving our own rig under his brother
authority. we are new in the business. can you give us some
pointers as whether we should get our own authority or cont.
as is. thanks for any advice

Hi Carolyn.

Your question is very open.  If you and your husband are finding your own loads, collecting the money, paying for all expenses (including taxes), then I might look into getting my own authority.  It really depends on what your brother-in-law is helping with.  You might be better off under his authority with regards to lower insurance rates, better rates on loads, etc.  If none of this applies, and your simply under his authority, I'd go on my own.
