Trucking: cdl written test study resources, cdl test questions, cdl written test

Question
    Bob Stephens,
I have moved to California and I want to save my cdl.So, i have to take all the written exams. I have studied for hours and hours and have passed all the tests. all I need is to study and pass the brakes and the combination vehicle. My motivation is really low because I don't plan to drive in the near future(but having a cdl is a great back up) I recently went on site that offered a a free sample of actual cdl test questions and you can purchase there program if you want it.(is this legal? If it is, can you direct to these type of questions(preferably for free) and other learning resources that are more fun than  the boring cdl handbook or at least quicker than studying the Manuel. The sample questions were fun and it feel like it will get me in test taking mode. I am burnt out on reading the handbook. I'd appreciate the help

Answer
Hi Brian.

Sorry about the delay.  It's a great idea to keep a CDL.  Your exactly right, you never know when you might need it.  The sample questions you talk about are legal.  I briefly worked as an instructor at a truck driving school and the questions they asked were the same ones that the State of Florida asked on the exam.  The only difference was that the State worded it slightly different.  The manual can be boring.  There are web sites that can help out and guide you with questions that you'll see on the exam in California.  Check out www.testprepreview.com, www.testquestionsandanswers.com or www.usadrivesafe.com/cdlonline.asp.  These are about as fun as it gets.  Good luck in your new profession.  You may leave trucking, but trucking will never leave you!

Good luck!
