Trucking: hot shot, commercial insurance, liability insurance

authority if I stay under 26k GCVWR do I still need federal MC# if I run Interstate and would I need it for Intrastate is there anything I can do about commercial Insurance 1 million and 100k cargo on 38k replacment cost for truck and 7k for trailer they wanted $7800 WOW! If that is the case how can a little guy make a living any info would be great thanks

Hi Warren, You will need Federal Authority if you haul for hire (charge for hauling) and cross state lines. You may need State Authority if you haul within a state for hire.
INSURANCE: You will need $750,000 liability insurance if you haul anything except Hazmat products. That requires
$1,000,000 liability. Suggest you shop around for Insurance.
