Trucking: truck broker, transportation intermediaries association, luck jim

Question
Hello Jim
I am wondering if you know anything about http://www.freightbrokerbootcamp.com/ like is a reliable company, or something shady.  I am interested in starting this business for myself.
This looks to good to be true, can you help me?
Thanks
Brenda

Answer
1st question Brenda, do you have any experience in Trucking?
There is a whole lot more to the business than what is described on their website.  On the other hand it will only cost you $97 to learn all about the business.  The real key to success is sales ability.  If you can get a few customers and a following of qualified truckers it can be a good business however it is extremely competitive.  First, you will need a license from FMCSA.  http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/documents/op1.pdf
Or you could try to find a job working for a broker to see if you like it.  You will probably have to sign a non-compete as least in regard to their customers and truckers which might limit your ability to go out on your own, on the other hand you would learn the busines on someone elses dime.
For general information about the industry browse through the website of the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA), http://www.tianet.org/index.htm
Good luck.
Jim.
