Answer1) I am not an expert with regard to the operational side of trucks. I am a finance and admin guy.
2) As for truck price, you'll have to narrow your focus some. There are as many truck choices as there are car choices. What type of type of truck ? Straight truck, Class 3,4,5 ? What type of freight do you intend to haul ? Liquids, produce, manufactured goods, equipment, expedited, over-sized ?
3) Fuel costs are being dealt with by charging a fuel surcharge in addition to a flat rate or per-mile rate. As an example, if you quote 1.25 per mile, you would also quote an additional but separate fuel surcharge. Should fuel climb again next week, based on the fuel index, your fuel surcharge would also increase.
Delivery is based solely on the type of freight you are hauling. Could you give me an idea as to what you intend to haul ?
