Trucking: Incident/Accident, otr truck driver, applacation

Question
Dear Mr. Reese,
I am an OTR truck driver with 3 years OTR experience. I have a clean driving record (no tickets, accidents, or anything). While driving for another company about 2 months ago, I had a small yard incident/accident at our home terminal. As I was pulling my trailer out between two others parked beside it, my very back rear part of my trailer scraped the right fender of a tractor  attatched to the trailer to my left. It bent one of the side steps up and pulled the front right bumper out about a foot. It was dark, no light in yard, and we had a very, very small yard. I had already been hired by another company before this incident/accident. My question is-If I ever apply to another company, should I list this on the accident part of the application...There was no police, police report, or D.O.T. report involved. Some mechanics working in the garage took some pictures and that was it. I did receive a letter suspending my pro-pay until further notice due to "the yard accident". Is this something another company would reject me on? I have also heard that there is some way you can form your own company and application, at least on paper, and send it to a company and see exactly what they are saying about your driving history with that company. Hope this doesn't sound sneaky. I was even thinking about just applying to some company and asking them what the company I had the incident/accident with was saying about me...but I am wondering if they would even tell me what the company said about my driving history. What would be the easiest and best way for me to find out exactly what this company I had the incident/accident with would be saying about me? Thank you. Best regards. Mike Eidson.

Answer
Good Morning Mike.

Mike I would be Honest with your employer or prospective employers when you discuss the incident explane how & what happend if you don't and it is discovered you would have falseified your applacation which are grounds for termanation something like this can follow you your intire carrear if not truthfull. A unreported accident is much more serious than the accident itself. Call the old company director to inqurie about your driving record, if they report thru D.A.C. ask what was reported to D.A.C. Put this incident to bed once and forever for what it is and not a false application or information. If your truthfull the facts will support you.
