Trucking: CDL`s, commercial drivers license, pay increases

Question
Dear Sir,
I was looking in the paper at jobs and saw requirements for class A-D CDL`s.  What is a CDL, and what do the different letters stand for?  What is your opinion on $1.14 a mile?

Answer
Dear FWB,
CDL stands for Commercial Drivers License, and The class's are A,B and C...there are also other endorsements that you can get such as H=(Hazardous Materials), T=(Tanker), and of course the M=motorcycle...Etc...as for part 2 of your Question $1.14 is a real good pay as far as I am concerned but you should read on in the ads because that sounds like a owner-operators pay scale, also the pay increases with experience and many companies pay and benefits differ, I suggest you weigh your options carefully when choseing this or anything as a career, If you have any other Questions please feel free to ask.
    Thank you .
