Truck Repair: cummins n14, cummins n14, injector head

Question
QUESTION: We started the engine and we let it worm up and drove it around the block we notice a different sound come from top of engine so it dies on us and it seem like no oil was in first injector head so we open it up and to our luck push rod on second injector was broken in two so we look in motor removed both pieces and check length with a other push rod it was all there so went and bought no push rods for all injectors so we put it together we tried to turn by hand to set rocker arms and it will turn 1inch up and down more

ANSWER: Well lets start with getting me your serial number and lets verify that the tubes are correct for the engine. and look down to your cam followers and make sure that push tubes are seated correctly down there. I'm thinking all your going to need to do is back off the injector adjustment and then we can roll the motor through the sequence and you'll be fine but lets check those things first just to make sure

QUESTION: We tried turn it with out no push rods nor injectors or valves nothing not even rocker arms

ANSWER: Did you get all of the the push tube out might butt the two pieces and make sure there isn't maybe another chunk still down in there. Has to be something else is broke or another chunk of that push tube is hung up in the front gears or something. I would probably start by dropping the pan and see what you can find.

QUESTION: 11794343 serial but we decided to drain oil and drop oil pan since it had a leak in it as we dumped the rest of oil we found lots of plastic pieces the look like a small funnel at the end had like a a 90 degree end with a hole in it i dont think i ever seen something like that nd reason i say it looks like a funnel we piece it together and also on the widest had two holes in each side about ½ big like it had something ran in it side by side

Answer
Those are your piston oilers they are known to break after awhile the plastic get brittle those will need to be replaced. If you look down the passenger side of the engine they will be right about the height of the frame rail kinda will be shaped like a football with 1 bolt holding them in. might be difficult prying them out theres a fat oring on the inside of that. be gentle prying them out the little tabs on those will break. will be a little easier with you having the pan off if those tabs break you can just push them in and they will fall out the bottom. Did you find anything else that's keeping it from turning?
