Truck Repair: Fault code 254 Cummins celect plus ecm for N14 engine, amp fuses, celect

Question
I have an ERF ec14 truck with N14 celect plus engine. Recently the ECM got blown up coz the alternator was badly overcharging and the 2 fuses mounted near the ECM were getting blown up, the Driver acted carelessly and put higher Amp fuses thereby blowing up the ECM. The replacement Ecm showed Fault code 141 and 254 while testing on the bench. The same codes are reflected when Ecm mounted on the engine. The yellow and red engine check light not going off. however the engine is firing  and revving nicely. If the truck moves around can it get damaged. where could the fault be and how to repair it. thanks.

Answer
Hi Arun,
the codes are 141 - Oil Pressure Sensor Circuit and 254 - Fuel Shutoff Solenoid Supply Circuit. That is all I can tell you regarding these codes. it is strange that these codes are staying active on a different engine...it is possible that the ecm is not operating correctly. if you can try to monitor oil pressure with your laptop or pc while the engine is running to see if the ecm is getting a reading. if it does show oil pressure and the light is still on there may be an issue with the ecm. you will have to follow the step by step troubleshooting procedure in the cummins manual to diagnose this. have you tried clearing these codes?

good luck,

Matt
