Truck Repair: 1979Motor, shift linkage, emergency brake

My truck runs,but when you put it in gear it doesn't do anything? What can it be!

Hi Johnny,
Check all the basics first, check fluid in the transmission(if it's automatic), make sure your shift linkage is tight and adjusted properly,does work in reverse, 1st, 2nd?  check if the driveline is spinning when you put it in gear(emergency brake on and wheels chocked!!!)think safety!! try these items and we'll go from there.
