Truck Repair: 2000 freightliner classic, check engine oil, oil viscosity

Question
what could be wrong with my truck. the engine keeps shutting down, then the check engine oil light comes on but the oil pressure is good and the oil level is full. it then cranks back up and the same senerio starts all over.

Answer
My advise is for you to get the engine properly diagnosed with the "insite" software at a cummins workshop. If there are inherent problems, they will be able to figure it out.
However, carry out the following basic checks:
1 Engine level with the intention to ascertain that fuel is not mixing with the oil.
2. Verify oil viscosity, light or thick or too black.
3. check if your earthing is ok.
4. check the resistance of your shutdown solenoid. 14 ohms for 12volt system while 28 ohmms for 24 volts system. If not ok please change the solenoid.
