Truck Repair: N14 cummins engines, n14 cummins engine, n14 cummins engines

Question
What is the book time to replace main and rod bearings on the N14 cummins engine?     Thank-you

Answer
Cummins has about 5 different types of checks classified as A,B,C,D, and E.
The A check is the daily checks(oil, water levels, battery belt tension e.t.c)
The B check basically refer to servicing either monthly or 250 hours which entails changing oil, filters e.t.c
The C check occurs every 1500 hours or before the 7th service or B check. It involves resetting of injector travel and valve lash and repeat af A and B checks.
The D check comes up basically from 4500 hours upwards to 6000 hours.
It involves a repeat of C,B and A checks including rekitting of water pump, turbochargers, fuel pump and replacement of injector cups.
The E check is seasonal, along with the preceeding checks, it is a period to check the connecting rod/main bearing, although it may not necessarily be done except it becomes necessary. If the oil pressure drop is experienced then it may be necessary to replace the bearings.

Hope you find the above useful.
