Question
Hi Van, the fuel pump switch was fine and I have checked the fuses too. Any other suggestions? Thank-you and have a Merry Christmas. Tom

-----Question-----
I own an 88 Ford Ranger and today it just died while waiting at a stop light. I bought a new coil thinking that would be the reason for no spark but it still won't turn over. What else should I look at?
Thanks, Tom
-----Answer-----
If you hit a bump shortly before the stop light, I would check the fuel pump inertia switch.
Just above the leading edge of the floor mat, on the passengers side.
Red button on top of the switch.
Push the red button.

Check all fuses, especially any marked Ign.

Answer
You said no spark, so I assume the fuel pump is running when you turn the key on.
I would sure want to make sure the ignition switch is sending power to the ignition, but aside from that, and checking to see if a wire connection just might be loose, I don't know.
You might want to go to www.autozone.com and enter your vehicle information, and see what type of troubleshooting they show.
There are service manauals you can access on line for free.

Merry Christmas.
