Truck Repair: Int. T444E cold start prob & possible injector prob., rydeen, pressure oil

Question
Hello Eric. I have a cold start problem with my 2000 4700 with the 99' t444e motor in it.  it's basically the same problem as Mr. John Rydeen's as he asked on 9/13/06. Which I just read about. the problem of trying to start my truck in the morning after the truck has sat overnight or for more than 9hrs. it's as if the truck has lost its oil prime. My warn engine light will come on but as long as I kill the motor before the comp does I can restart it without having to add anything to it. Usually by the 2nd or 3rd crank it will fire up, but of course as he did, I have to hit the fuel pedal to get RPMS up to about 1200 or so. then it runs fine the rest of day. If i plug the block heater in it doesnt have this problem no matter how long i leave it sitting. so my question is. do you think my problem could be the high pressure oil pump as well?

Answer
Plugging in the block heater will not effect the "prime" of the oil system --- If that was the problem then plugging in the block heater would not make a difference --- I believe your problem is in the fuel system -- that can bleed down --- Try this -- let the truck sit for more than 9 hours - before cranking on it -- remove the fuel filter -- Does the fuel bowl have fuel in it? --
