Truck Repair: Fuel Pump, ford f 150, pressure test

I have a 2003 ford f-150 5.4 pick-up that is loosing power on hills.  I believe it is the fuel pump but are there other possibilities I should consider.  Is the pump still on the engine block or is this electric found in the fuel tank.  What is an estimate for repairs.  If one is skilled with tool, can it be done in my garage? Thanks

Look for a filter, and change it first.
A fuel pressure test would be a great idea before investing in the cost and work of replacing the pump. But yes...you can change it in the garage.

I would check to see if there is any warranty first.Emissions maybe?
