have 5.0 engine truck cranks sometimes then refuses to crank has good fire at dist. one day none the next have changed the ing. module worked great for about 4 days then back to same old thing ing. module is very hot to touch

Hi Mike,
The modules will get pretty hot, but that's not to say yours isn't gettine too hot.
Low resistance in the coil would be one cause of that.
A loose connection in one of the connectors could have been temporarily corrected by replacing the module, so go through the same steps, but just plug the same one back in. See if that does it again for a while.
If it does, check those connector contacts for corrosion or just looseness.
