Truck Repair: 5.9 CUMMINGS ENGINE, engine blocks, freind

I HAVE A FRIEND WITH A FLEETWOOD DISCOVERY MOTORHOME WITH A 5.9L CUMMINGS PUSHER. IT HAS ONLY 7000 MILES ON IT AND IT IS A 1999. THE ENGINE BLOCK IS CRACKED HE SAID BETWEEN THE BLOWER AND STARTER I THINK HE SAID. HAVE YOU HEARD OF A PROBLEM WITH THESE ENGINE BLOCKS CRACKING. I HEARD ALL THESE BLOCKS CRACK IN THE SAME PLACE, IS THIS TRUE. IT IS LEAKING WATER AND RUNING HOT. THANKS

With that low of miles they MIGHT get some help with the block replacement from Cummins.The crack should not make it run hot until it ran low on coolant.I would change the thermostat on that problem.Tell your freind to call 1 800 DIESELS for further help with that.
