Truck Repair: skipping, throttle position sensor, engine harness

Question
my 2001 dodge 5.9 24v cummins sometimes skips at idle. Usually it does it at idle after it has been running a while , not while going down the road. it doesn't do it all the time

Answer
Never heard of one doing that but Dodge has a throttle position sensor mounted on top of the fuel pump. You leaving it idling??You can hook up a PTO switch where it will idle at a higher RPM.There is a loose wire at that cowl where the engine harness hooks to Dodge harness(I think it is wire #11).Just put a switch in the dash & ground the other wire.Probably on work if it has cruise control.
