Truck Repair: electrical, distributor shaft, distributor cap

i was just given a 91 cheyenne p/u with a 4.3 6 cyl. i have spark from the coil but none to the plugs, would this be the ignition mod in the dist or is there something else, i need to get it going for work. thanks for any help you can give me. roger

Hello Roger,
If you have spark from the coil, then the module is good.
That also shows that the distributor shaft is turning, but what is missing is the rotor sending the spark to each individual plug.
Remove the distributor cap, and check the condition of the rotor. Make sure there actually is a rotor there.
Check the inside of the distributor cap, and crank the engine to make sure the rotor is going around.
