Truck Repair: cigarette lighter quit working, chevy s10 pickup, cigarette lighter

my cigarette lighter quit working, bought a new lighter & it doesn't work either. my husband thought maybe a fuse, however once fuse box was located, we don't know what the cigarette lighter is now called? Can you help? Chevy s10 pickup year 2001

Hello Dawn,
The owners manual has a page that tells what each fuse powers.
But with a test light, you could just check each and every one of the fuses, while they are in place.

The wire could be unplugged from the back of the cig lighter socket. Most now need a ground wire connected also if the socket is mounted in plastic, or if it is mounted in the sliding ashtray.
