Truck Repair: 2002 7.3L Hesitation, electrical malfunction, autozone

Question
I read an answer you gave regarding a 2002 7.3L that was experiancing stumbling. You suggested checking the KOEO and KOER. I'm experiencing the same thing however, when mine does it the tachometer usually drops to 0. After about 3-5 seconds it kicks back in. This never happens more than once after a start up and is always at speeds between 50 & 65. I keep a very good detailed maintenance schedule on this truck but this is driving me crazy. Can you help?

Answer
If the Tac is dropping to zero when the problem occurs.  You have an electrical malfunction.  Sometimes having the KOEO and KOER test run will find the problem, or some shops can run a snap-shop test.  before paying a shop to run these tests you can go to AutoZone or another parts store that will check your codes for free.  If your truck is doing this for 3-5 seconds it should be enough time to log a code. If you can get codes  from it, let me know and I will try to walk you through the repair.
