Truck Repair: chev tailgate, pivot hinge, rear edge

I have a 91 chev  1/2 ton.  How do I remove the tailgate?

Hi Darryl,
First open it.
Then raise the rear edge like you are going to close it, but just raise it about 6 inches, or about 1/4 of the way.
As you hold it there, pull one side, I believe the drivers side, toward you. You may need to raise or lower just slightly.
When that side comes off the pivot hinge pin, slide the tailgate to the side, and off the other pin.
