Truck Repair: Engine problem, chevy silverado 4x4, chevy silverado

Question
I have a '93 1 ton chevy silverado 4x4 w/454 TBI and auto tranny. It is almost competly stock, all new parts are OE, and or acdelco parts, it has almost 150,000 miles. We just had a cold snap and got dumped with snow. The engine started to die, like the choke was on, and or was being flooded, when the throtle was opened up. It runs and idles fine untill you have to open the throtle up, to pass, accelerate or go up hills. It doesn't do it all the time, but off and on. I have a service manuel for the truck, but it doesn't trouble shoot. Help.

Answer
Hi Bacon,
If it did it all the time, I would say fuel filter.
Any chance there is water in the fuel, freezing in the line?
I think I would try some Heet, and some injector cleaner first.
Also, is there any possibility the air intake is being obstructed, like from snow, or a rodent built a nest in the filter housing?
If I had it, I would connect a fuel pressure tester where I could see it while driving, and see where the pressure is when it stumbles.
