Truck Repair: 2001 Dakota radiator, radiator hose, engine block heater

Question
I am trying to install an engine block heater on my dakota 3.9 but I can't find the petcock on the radiator.  It also tells me to drain all of the coolant out of the block.  How would I do this?

Answer
Hi Patrick,
Remove the lower radiator hose, whichever end is easiest to get to.

Actually, if your coolant is in good shape, just go to the point where the heater goes.
Freeze plug? Drive a screwdriver through it and pop it out, and install the heater.

Heater hose coolant heater??
Just cut the hose and stick the heater in.

If your coolant is old and dirty, then do the radiator hose, and maybe even run some water through to flush out whatever dirty coolant you can.

Good luck,
Van
