Truck Repair: high pitch squeeling in front end around the pulleys, power steering pump, high pitch

Question
replaced alternator and one pully squeel ias still there asnd seems to get louder as the truck warms up .  the truck is a 1990 chev 4/4 would you be able to give me an idea of what else could be causing the problem

Answer
Hi Al,
Quite often a squeel is from a pulley being out of line. Look down the belt and see if everything looks like it is running on the same plane, or if something just looks different on one of the pulleys.
A work idler pulley, or tensioner are other possibilities.
It is also possible for it to not even be a belt squeel, but the water pump, power steering pump, or air pump. A long screwdriver, heald against each, with the handle against your ear acts like a doctors stethescope, but be careful sticking it down near the running accessories.
